Show Heavenly Bodies

MET recently presented the show Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and Catholic Imagination. The exhibition features papal vestments and regalia from the Sistine Chapel's repository, Byzantine mosaics depicting the apparel of the corresponding period and the work of contemporary designers referring to Catholic aesthetics. Clothing items are exhibited on 150 specifically produced mannequins, and the documentation is presented in the form of composite scans, in order to convey the fabric texture with utmost accuracy.
